Jay Chou was able to strike the nostalgia in many Californian (and adjacent areas) ABCs born in the 1980s-early 2000s.

Las Vegas was the place that many of us went to as a vacation spot because it was family friendly during the 90s until around Covid ish. I used to have semi annual vacations to Vegas with my family, driving up on the 15 and making stops at Bakers In n Out as the sort of half way point. Driving through the Californian-Nevada desert as afternoon turns into night, then seeing the light of the Luxor pyramid being the sign that we were almost there. Being greeted by neon signs at 3am and checking into our hotel room. I would get excited to go to Circus Circus or New York New York and play the arcades while my parents gambled, then in about 4 hours time, meet up with them near the buffet and have a meal, then driving around the city to do some shopping in the mall or outlets.

Las Vegas has changed so much since then. Gone is the cheap, complimentary room and buffet, the free parking. It's a shell of its former self. Too expensive for the middle class, when its clear that the target demographic for Las Vegas has shifted from working to middle class with families to the millionaires and billionaires.
